ABOUT BECOMING A MEMBER:

If you have always wanted to be in amateur dramatics whether it be on stage or behind, then there is plenty going on at Water Lane Theatre Company for you to get involved with. The following is a glimpse at what we do:

We hold various productions each year, one in June which is quite often a Shakespeare production and held in the Monastery Gardens, Bishops Stortford, one in October or November and a larger play in January/February when our junior members join in too, both of these are held in Rhodes Arts Complex in Bishops Stortford.

When productions are on our rehearsals are usually held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 - 10pm in a local hall. In between productions we try and hold 'Water Sheds' these are monthly meetings where we get together and have a guest speaker talking about a particular theatrical subject, i.e. scenery painting, makeup song writing etc or sometimes we read through a script we are considering putting on. Whatever the theme it is a good chance for us to get together and have a laugh, and a cup of coffee - oh and a biscuit!

We also have regular quiz nights and smaller comedy shows held in a local hall, when the members put on small acts/monologues/songs etc and we have a buffet meal, bring our own drink and generally have a great time, these are always fun and well attended.

We look forward to meeting you.

Please note if you do get a part in one of our productions you will need to join and pay the membership fee to be covered by our insurance.

SPONSORSHIP

Water Lane Theatre Company is a non profit making organisation and because of this we are always happy to accept sponsorship, however small, from both companies and private individuals.

There are many ways you could do this, for instance:

  • Purchase of advertising space in our production programmes.
  • Contribution towards costs of production.
  • Contribution towards purchase of equipment.
  • Purchase of advertising space on our website

Sponsorship could be for just one production, one year or for longer, whichever you feel you could commit to.

In return we would acknowledge your sponsorship in our programmes. These are sold on the night of the production(s) that you have sponsored and we would hope to sell one to each family/couple attending. We would also acknowledge you on our website. For more information about this please contact us as above.
